i haven't had much time within the past few days to blog (or procrastinate, PTL)
let me catch you up on my life a little....
on friday night, we went to the gymnastics meet against illinois state. (weird, right? a school of 4,000 vs. a school of 20,000+) one of the girls on my floor, stephanie, is on the gymnastics team and although she wasn't able to compete, we were there to support! i've never been to an actual gymnastics meet, i've only watched them on tv....and it's usually the summer olympics. it lasted about two hours. both teams competed in vault, uneven bars, floor, and balance beam. unfortunately, we didn't win, but we only lost by a few points. i was glad i went!
throughout the weekend, a bunch of girls on my floor and i have been playing a card game called ligretto. i had never played it before a few weeks ago, and i love it. it's like speed, but you get points. (or negative points in my case, hahaha) it's really fun....and not hard to learn! :)
yesterday, my best friend sierra came up to see me! thank goodness for 3-day weekends. last night, we went to u-village and went shopping. i love u-village. we were going to go to this really cute store downtown that is going out of business (=SALE), but i got the hours wrong and it was closed when we got there haha....oh well. after u-village, we met up with taylor (my friend from high school that goes to spu) and lauren (a friend from church who goes to school with sierra) because she was visiting spu also! we went to menchies....which was packed, as usual. people love their frozen yogurt, i guess! (side note: i REFUSE to say "fro-yo". i'm sorry. i can't do it.) i went there on friday night, so i didn't get any on saturday. i'm working on this thing called willpower.....wish me luck.
this morning, hope, sierra, and i went to mars hill again. i wanted her to see what it was like and she wanted to go too, and since she had a car, we drove there. it was good, again. there were baptisms - but not planned ones. you simply went up as you felt called to be baptized. we sat more towards the back, so it was harder to see (well, maybe just me since my long-distance vision is AWFUL). there was also communion.....i've always thought communion was a first-sunday-of-the-month-only kind of thing, but that isn't always necessarily true. she just left, and although i'm sad to see her go, i'm so glad i could spend a least a little time with her!
here are some "glamour" shots....and by "glamour" i mean photobooth:
so thankful for her, and that she got to meet some of my college friends! :)
as for the rest of the day....my plans look somewhat like this :
Homework [but not too much since i don't have school until wednesday :)]
a movie?
hopefully ligretto!
& who knows what else, it's college....
have a wonderful rainy day!
loveLOVElove <3
